With Sandra Day O'Connor's resignation from the U.S. Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade is under attack. It is more important than ever to have supporters of a woman's right to chose in all levels of government. Carrie is pro-choice and pro-family. She's the only pro-choice Democrat running for this office.

Only 13 out of 100 U.S. Senators are women.
Only 62 out of 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives are women.

Only 4 of the 29 Monroe County Legislators are women.

A full-time working woman earns $. 73 for every $1.00 received by a man. (AFL-CIO & the Institute for Women's Policy Research, Equal Pay for Working Families: National and State Data on Pay Gap and Its Costs (1999)).
More than half of the families living in poverty in Rochester are female head of household families (2003 American Community Survey, U.S. Census Bureau).
More than 77% of AIDS cases in the US are African American and Hispanic Women (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, National Institute of Health).
About 1 in 4 African American Women over the age of 55 has diabetes, nearly twice the rate for white women (American Diabetes Association).
Local breast cancer incidence is 11% higher than the national average (Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency).
