Promoting Safe Neighborhoods

Carrie Andrews knows how important it is to have safe, clean neighborhoods for our children and for our families. It means having a safe environment for our kids during after school hours. It means having residents who participate in the betterment of their neighborhoods. It means eliminating abandoned houses that lower property values and invite crime. And, it means having access to key County services and funds for community improvement.

Getting Our Fair Share of Public Safety Resources

Carrie Andrews will help to get our fair share of funding from Albany and Monroe County to help our neighborhoods be strong and secure.

She will:

  • Develop an Annual Clean-up program, funded through a County/City and Private Enterprise Initiative to go block-by-block through our district and eliminate abandoned houses, cars and trash and work to beautify our community.
  • Work to secure a public and private business collaboration to introduce a Giveaway Program for free gun locks to make our neighborhoods safer for children and to further responsible gun ownership.
  • Devise a program to expedite Speed Bumps in neighborhoods.
  • Support Project IMPACT of joint sheriff and city police patrols in our neighborhoods.

Carrie has pledged to do what no other County legislator currently does - to open a legislative office in our district so that residents can easily reach her. She will work closely with neighborhood associations and concerned individuals to address community issues. She will keep residents aware and informed of County services like 911 and EMS, as well as the availability of community development block grant funding.

Carrie Andrews will fight for safe neighborhoods!
