Carrie Andrews knows first-hand the problems working families deal with, and particularly those challenges faced by Seniors in our neighborhoods. With skyrocketing prescription drug costs and ever decreasing services from government, the task of retiring with dignity and a feeling of security becomes harder and harder.
We need a County Legislator who will work to get our fair share of state and county resources to protect one of our most valuable neighborhood resources - our seniors.
On Safety:
"Good neighborhoods are safe neighborhoods. We must work with the city and county to attack the problem of vacant and abandoned houses that drive down property values and invite crime."
Health Care:
"We must fight Republican attempts to slash services and restrict access to Medicaid - efforts that will only deny needed services, increase the number of uninsured families, and overburden caseworkers. To lower prescription drug costs, the County should consider options that work in other communities like importing drugs from Canada. We should also call on New York State to purchase prescription drugs for Medicaid to lower costs for county taxpayers."
Getting Our Fair Share:
"We must recognize the contributions our Seniors have made throughout their working lives to make our communities all they are now. We have to get our fair share of resources from Albany and Monroe County to give seniors everything they deserve."
