The future of this city is our children…

We must do everything we can to make sure our children have good schools and safe neighborhoods. Carrie is no stranger to the problems facing our schools. As a Labor Relations Specialist for teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, food service workers and janitors, Carrie fights for public education every day. She's spends a lot of time in our schools, solving problems and talking to concerned parents and teachers.

  • Carrie created and launched Dial-A-Teacher's free after school tutoring program in several city schools.
  • Carrie talks with school-based planning teams in our schools about the No Child Left Behind Act.
  • Carrie meets regularly with teachers, parents and community members to talk about quality education.

Carrie Andrews will continue to fight for Public Education as a County Legislator

  • She knows that education starts before the children come to school and will fight to make it easier for children to receive Early Intervention Services from the County.
  • She will fight for the County to pay for the nurses in our schools
  • Carrie supports increased funding for licensed day care providers to provide supportive atmospheres for children.
  • Carrie supports increased funding for libraries to help our children learn.
  • Carrie supports programs to eliminate lead in our housing to help children.
  • She will advocate for our fair share of funding from Albany and support the Campaign for Fiscal Equity law suit.

Carrie has devoted her professional life to fighting for good quality public education and will carry on that fight as your County Legislator.
